LM Weld Control Purpose and Mission
LM Weld Control was developed to bridge the gap between new modern machines and the costs that owner Laramie Miller has noticed through over 20 years in the welding industry, as industries trend toward automation. In today’s world, where companies increasingly use AI and automation to remove workers from the process, it’s harder for the average builder, especially guys starting out, to afford equipment. Big companies seem to have left the little guys behind, who once helped build this world. This growing gap inspired Laramie to create LM Weld Control, hoping to make the legendary SA200 welding machine equal to or better than newer models with new technology like hot start, true wireless remote control of the machine’s output with no lag, and the ability to remotely start and kill the engine. It’s designed to be built upon, with plans to add features like automated rollout wheels that plug into the control, putting automation in workers’ hands to make jobs easier, not to replace them like big-name manufacturers aim to do.
Furthermore, a few companies have nearly monopolized aftermarket parts for the SA200, with no real upgrades. Parts like electric idle, with a $500 price tag, can’t be justified when components like the PC board cost less than $5 to make. Engine monitoring parts, like Murphy gauges and tattletale systems, often fail, leaving welders inoperable and hurting operators with downtime and repair costs in the thousands, yet these are called upgrades.
This is where LM Weld Control steps in, hoping to change this. The control gives you technology, including hot start, wireless remote control with no lag, and remote engine start/stop, to keep up with new machines and includes all the old so-called upgrades in one superior, better-priced unit. The idle portion better controls the machine with a quality PCB board design. Engine monitoring is superior, with shutoff protection that can be enabled or disabled, letting you decide when and why it shuts down, with all engine parameters in your hand.
LM Weld Control’s goal is to change the industry to help the guy behind the hood, keep the legacy of future fabricators valuable, and burn rods for generations. We aim to give operators control, separating the welder from the weldor, making them both part of building the future, not just the machine, in this AI world.
